Job Description

Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior System Administrator to join our team in the DC Metro Area.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work as part of a Systems Administration Support team responsible for management, maintenance, administrative, and security of Windows and Linux-based serves, or other operating systems and appliances as needed/ directed by the customer.

  • Work with Engineers, Developers, and other key stakeholders to track and communicate project statuses, serve as an escalation point to remove obstacles, and work to deliver project work on schedule and budget.

  • Work closely with the Computing and Data Engineers, Management, Government stakeholders, and other key partners to plan, manage, and deliver modernize technology efforts to the customer.

  • Decompose problems and issues into discrete tasks that convey the reason for cause, the resolution identified, and overall impact to schedule, budget, and other resources.

  • Ensure maximum operational uptime of the system while mitigating the potential impacts from unforeseen system outages through comprehensive maintenance, administration, Disaster Recovery, and Continuity of Operations (COOP) support.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors of Science in STEM related discipline (Computer Science, IT, or Engineering) or 10 years of direct working experience in management, maintenance, administration, and security of Windows and Linux-based servers, or other operating systems and appliances.

  • DOD 8570 Compliant, 8570 I.1-M AT-II

  • Working experience with Linux and C2S with an understanding of Openstack Technologies.

  • Understanding and knowledge to administered and maintained in a manner that ensures compliance with all applicable DISA Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIG), USAF and DoD policies and directives, and industry standards and best practices.

  • Provide advanced technical expertise in support of performance and health management, monitoring, optimization, fault analysis and quality of services for all customers’ systems used or managed workstations or servers.

  • Monitor Compute and Network infrastructure, and System Health on a continuous basis; at least daily; and provide timely alerts and notifications as appropriate to vendors, services providers, engineers, and the customer personnel to ensure quality of services users and hosted applications.

  • Assess, maintain, and provide data backup policies, restoration operations, and schedule testing and validation of COOP support to the customers’ environment to ensure compliance and readiness is available in the event of system outage for maximum uptime.

  • Work with the customer, service providers, vendors, and other Contractors as needed/as directed to track issues with resolution, provide timely status reporting, and other meetings, activities, and coordination as necessary to ensure service availability and delivery.

  • Interface and coordinate IT systems operations with organizations, engineers, and administrators that provide Non-Classified ad Classified network services, as needed/as directed.

  • Design, development, delivery, and execution of a Configuration and Change Management Program to support the customers’ environment.

  • Support the deployment and/or migration and sustainment of the CCI AEM on Government and/or Commercial Cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, GovCloud, C2S, MilCloud, JEDI, or similar environments as needed/as directed.

  • Support the Authorized Transfer Authority (ATA) services and the Reliable Human Review (RHR) process to review, approve, and move data between classified and/or unclassified networks as required.

  • Excellent written communication skills and demonstrated ability to conduct independent research, analysis, and produce clear, logical and concise products.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working experience with Windows and TITAN Cloud

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery/ software, such as Microsoft Office Products, a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.

  • Frequently communicates with customers, key stakeholders, and key partners. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • TOP SECRET/ SCI

Physical Requirements:

  • May be asked to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

  • May be asked to move Audio/Visual or Computer equipment weighing up to 50 pounds across and/or around a business campus or large facility.
