We are currently seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Readiness Improvement Program Specialist (RIP Specialist) to join our team in Yokosuka, Japan . This is an onsite international position .

This RIP Specialist position involves coordinating Fit Test & Size (FT&S) operations, off-load/on-load delivery dates, conducting customer briefings, and overseeing various equipment processing and inventory control tasks. As an RIP Specialist , you will play a crucial role in maintaining a professional rapport with the customer, coordinating FT&S operations, and overseeing equipment processing and inventory control activities. You will work closely with Hub Managers, Project Engineers, and other Coordinators to ensure the completion of assigned tasks and compliance with safety, conduct, and company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

All essential functions are performed in strict accordance with applicable technical, procedural, and quality requirements established by both the customer and the organization.

Visual/Technical Inspection:

  • Actively participate in, train, and supervise visual/technical inspections of all equipment as per directives.

Fit Test & Sizing:

  • Coordinate operations for Ensemble Sizing (True Fit) of personnel using Individual Protective Equipment (IPE) or as directed by NAVSEA Panama City, FL.

  • Coordinate operations for Mask Sizing using JSMLTs, CBR protective masks, and related sizing tools on required personnel or as directed by NAVSEA Panama City, FL.

  • Oversee On-load/off-load operations of CBR IPE and masks at customer locations or as directed.

  • Ensure accurate segregation of sizing data onto records or other formats during missions.

  • Generate and submit operation reports to the Hub Manager or other members of Management.

  • Interact with diverse groups to address inquiries, concerns, and requests about products and services.

Equipment Processing:

  • Locate, de-issue, and transfer equipment returned from customers, segregating them by size and type into storage bins as applicable.

  • Identify, segregate, inventory, and report all unserviceable equipment for future processing through the Defense Accountability Reutilization and Disposal (DARD).

  • Identify, segregate, inventory, properly prepare, and report all hazardous waste/hazardous materials for disposal through the Defense Reutilization and Disposal Service (DRMO) as directed by NAVSEA Panama City, FL.

Maintenance of Competence:

  • Fully disassemble CBR masks and related equipment for quick inspection.

  • Fully re-assemble CBR masks and related equipment for retesting if applicable.

  • Correct, record, and report any discrepancies in products or job-related equipment to the Hub Manager and Project Engineer if applicable.

  • Prepare equipment for short/long-term storage using warehousing and other job-related equipment and materials.

JSMLT Operator:

  • Operate the JSMLT and perform inspection/troubleshooting procedures.

  • Conduct mask tester validation procedures and Quantitative Fit Tests on required personnel for accurate CBR mask fitting.

  • Ensure physical and digital availability of all CBR mask testers in storage bins or other related locations.

  • Maintain the accuracy and quality of the CBR inventory by managing the calibration dates of all CBR mask testers using the WMS.

  • State and prepare mask testers for shipment to the CSF or other approved designation for calibration activities.

  • Locate and pick CBR mask testers for work orders.

Inventory Control:

  • Participate in and oversee cycle count inspections on CBR equipment and masks.

  • Ensure all inspected items are physically and digitally available within the WMS or other related locations.

  • Record, correct, and report any discrepancies in CBR equipment, masks, or other job-related equipment to the Hub Manager.

Data Entry/Reporting:

  • Ensure complete, accurate, and legible data collection is entered into the appropriate data collection systems.

  • Provide matrix-driven reports to support the Consolidated Storage Facility (CSF) or other Regional Hub requirements.

  • Maintain accuracy and quality of the CBR inventory using the WMS dashboard and/or handheld devices and related operational modules for appropriate identification, counting, and auditing of digital information.

Rental Truck/Fork Truck/Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Operator:

  • Participate in or oversee safe, efficient, and appropriate utilization of rental equipment/vehicles, forklifts, mid-riders, pallet jacks, or other similar MHE devices to transport equipment and job-related materials to designated locations as directed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of Senior Enlisted Damage Control Program Management and Training Specialist experience.

  • Three (3) years in tandem of CBRN fit testing experience.

  • Three (3) years in tandem of experience with warehouse (WMS) and quality (QMS) management systems.

  • NEC 4805 – Shipboard CBR-D Operations and Training Specialist.

  • CBRN Specialist (DOD).

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • NEC 4811 – Program Senior Enlisted experience preferred.

  • Proficiency in data entry and reporting using various systems and software.

  • Additional certifications related to CBRN fit testing or equipment management.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

  • Willingness to undergo additional training or certification as required by the position.

  • Experience working in an international or multicultural environment.

  • Fluency in Japanese is a plus but not required.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance prior to starting this position.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work standing for up to eight (8) hours a day in a non-climate-controlled environment.

  • Ability to lift and handle material weighing up to 35lbs.

  • Operation of rental equipment/vehicles, forklifts, pallet jacks, and similar Material Handling Equipment.
