Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Cruiser/Destroyer Combat Systems Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team in San Diego as a trainer on the COMNAVSURFPAC Readiness Assistance Training Team (RATT), providing timely direct support to ships and enhancing shipboard proficiency and self-sufficiency.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Conduct comprehensive material condition assessments, review, and assess combat systems programs and preventive and corrective maintenance procedures.

  • Provide classroom and deck plate, on-the-job training to Sailors on proper and safe operations, maintenance, and management of combat systems onboard ships homeported in San Diego, Pacific Northwest, Hawaii, and Japan.

  • Making a positive difference and impact on thousands of Sailors in the Pacific Fleet!

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma

  • Minimum twenty (20) years of experience with the technical aspects of the operations and maintenance of the AEGIS Combat Systems suite. Experience level should be comparable to that of an AEGIS Combat Systems Maintenance Manager (CSMM).

  • Direct operational and maintenance experience with AEGIS Combat Systems suite, Navy Sonar systems, VLS, CIWS, BMD and SPY radar systems.

  • Extensive experience with the technical aspects of the operations and maintenance of Navy network and communications systems, supporting systems, and interfaces with associated shipboard systems.

  • Direct operational and maintenance experience, within the last five years, with the operations and maintenance of Navy electronic warfare and countermeasures systems currently employed in the Fleet.

  • Must be able to maneuver on deck plates aboard ships in port, to include climbing ladders as necessary.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Secret Clearance required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to maneuver on deck plates aboard ships in port, to include climbing ladders as necessary.

  • Must be able to observe and report.

  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

The projected compensation range for this position is $73,500-$122,600. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
