ManTech Airworthiness Engineer in Patuxent River, Maryland

Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Airworthiness Engineer to join our team in the Lexington Park, MD location.

  • Hybrid work is an option for some tasking but must be able to support frequent meetings throughout the week and all technical work performed onsite NAS Patuxent River a minimum of 80%. Tasking and product deadlines may require a surge to support periods of full onsite work.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to produce and update Naval Air Training and Operating Procedures Standardization (NATOPS) and Naval Aviation Technical Information Product (NATIP) manuals.

  • Liaison with Tactical Aviation Program Offices and production staff on flight clearance document production

  • Work with various testing labs that influence tactical aviation system software updates.

  • Collaborate with the Weaponizing and Stores Planning (WASP) software team to ensure NATIP data integrity.

  • Manage multiple document updates that include collaboration with multiple competencies, subject matter experts of multiple engineering disciplines and publication production staff.

  • Conduct and run both informal and formal technical exchange meetings to include official Planning Meetings for safety-of-flight NATIP chapter updates.

  • Establish and enforce documentation publication standards for common components shared between aviation platforms.

  • Facilitate and assist with review of technical data from various review boards and working groups.

  • Incorporate Interactive Modules into NATIP chapters.

  • Exercise and enforce customer provided processes for efficient and effective production and updates to operational procedures and manuals.

  • Manage an agile integrated product team to ensure customer requirements are met and processes are followed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Engineering experience working with NAVAIR program offices, engineering disciplines, competencies, or the NAVAIR Airworthiness and CYBERSAFE (ACO).

  • 3+ years of experience managing military aircraft flight publications or similar engineering support of aircraft design, testing, or operations

  • BS/BA degree in Engineering or Software discipline

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience managing military aircraft flight publications or similar engineering support of aircraft design, testing, operations

  • MS/MA degree

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Actively current Secret Clearance required

  • U.S. Citizenship required

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.

  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers.
