ManTech Systems Engineer/Analyst - SSDS in Dahlgren, Virginia

As a Systems Engineer/Analyst-SSDS , you'll play a vital role in supporting the Test and Evaluation (T&E) efforts for the Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) on aircraft carriers and large deck amphibious ships. This includes evaluating system requirements, writing test cases, executing procedures, analyzing data, and providing concise trouble reports to ensure system readiness.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Evaluate system-level requirements and develop test cases, scenarios, and procedures for SSDS capabilities.

  • Execute test procedures, analyze data, and create trouble reports to facilitate problem resolution and system improvement.

  • Collaborate within a multi-contractor/government-integrated test team to support government test directors with additional data, research, and analysis.

  • Provide support for emergent testing and planned test events at locations such as Wallops Island, Virginia, and Moorestown, NJ.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Eight (8) years of experience in either Aegis Combat System or Ship Self Defense System (SSDS), including interfacing sensors and ship systems.

  • Three (3) years of experience with Data Links (Link-11 and Link-16) and Strike Group Interoperability (SGI).

  • Three (3) years of general experience in engineering, design, development, or testing and evaluation of a Navy combat system, with recent experience in test requirements definition, test plan/procedures development, test data reduction and analysis, or computer program performance analysis and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science.

  • Experience with Next Generation Simulation (NGS) or other simulations.

  • Experience working on Navy surface ship programs or similar defense-related projects.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to remain stationary for 50% of the time.

  • Occasional movement within the office for communication and accessing resources.

  • Ability to travel to Wallops Island, Virginia, or Moorestown, NJ, as needed.

Clearance Requirements: Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance prior to starting this position.
