ManTech Sr. Software Operational Test & Evaluation Engineer in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Sr . Software Operational Test & Evaluation Engineer to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO or Annapolis Junction, MD .

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop test plans and automated test cases to be used in conjunction with continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.

  • Document test case results and troubleshoot test and operational failures for a complex Information Technology system.

  • Maintain a production-like test environment, to include installing operating systems, databases, and applications.

  • Work with the application development and operations teams to ensure each release meets high quality standards

  • Develop automated and manual test cases for system-to-system interfaces. Perform application software, database, and operating system (Windows) installations to maintain testing environment and verify documentation and installation media required for system reconstitution

  • Create test plans, test cases, run conditions and expected result criteria.

  • Report and track issues in ticketing systems, and verify supplied fixes

  • Perform regression and Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V) testing

  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts, data sets and scenarios.

  • Assist with setting agenda and participating in the technical, operational readiness, change management, and risk review board meetings.

  • Ensure testing conclusions and recommendations are fully supported by test results, and the project manager is fully informed of testing status and application deviations from requirements.

  • Participate in all phases of risk management assessment and software/hardware deployment.

  • Participate in detailed review walkthrough sessions and track issues to successful resolution.

  • Collect metrics to measure test progress and quality outcomes.

  • Participate in special projects as assigned.

Basic Requirements:

  • 7 years of experience in a software quality assurance or testing role, including software test case development and testing

  • Knowledge of databases, operating systems, applications, and web servers. Experience with SQL or database query tools

  • Knowledge of software verification and validation processes and procedures and software requirements development methodologies

  • Experience with using configuration management tools and automated test tools and processes

  • Knowledge of DEV/OPS and agile support/development methodologies

  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Individual must have extensive software component test experience as part of large, highly integrated, enterprise systems. The position requires strong analytical skills, test case development expertise, test automation development, exceptional attention to detail and significant experience working with user interfaces, system interfaces, databases and SQL to verify data accuracy.

  • Be able to provide effective and adequate technical documentation of planned activities and results. Requires effective communication skills. Ability to work independently as well as within a group. Ability to complete tasking with minimum supervision.

  • Experience with SQL queries, databases, web applications, IBM Message Queueing (MQ), database and application clustering, web services, Windows, security, working on heterogeneous environments, and Networks. Familiarity with Remedy and Rational ClearQuest.

  • This position supports an IT operations environment. The successful candidate should expect to support work on nights and weekends and may be included in an on-call rotation for after-hours support.

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Due to the nature of this government contract, US Citizenship and an active DOD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain an agency specific suitability clearance is required.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or in a related discipline from an accredited college is preferred

  • Familiarity with CMMI-SVC, ITIL, and SDLC Lifecycle processes and standards a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain stationary up to 75% of the time in an office environment.

  • Must be able to traverse between one work location to another to accomplish work duties.

  • Must be able to operate IT equipment such as a computer, copier, fax machine, etc.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively with management and co-workers to exchange information accurately.

  • Must be able to read, review and effectively respond to electronic as well as verbal communications.

  • This position supports an IT operations environment. Candidates may need to support work on nights and weekends and may be included in an on-call rotation for after-hours support.

  • Currently, the contract work location requirement is to work in the office at the customer’s site once weekly at a minimum. This is subject to change.

The projected compensation range for this position is $97,900-$163,800. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
