Become an integral part of a diverse team in the Mission, Cyber and Intelligence Solutions (MCIS) Group. Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, mission oriented Information Technology Scientist in Chantilly, VA with strong Customer relationships. As an Information Technology Scientist attached to Service Operations division, you will be responsible for providing critical systems and application infrastructure support to the Department of Defense. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a team across multiple technical areas to include operations, engineering, security, and systems development. It offers great opportunities for technical growth.
Responsibilities Include but not limited to:
Establish Automation as a core competency across the contract s Service Operations, Service Design, Service Transition and Cyber Operations teams
Review existing processes and SOPs and apply automation in efficient ways to reduce and/or to reduce human interactions
Work with the Service Desk to establish a Tier 0 concept, allowing users to request and to fulfill their service request within minimal input from the Service Desk teams
Review Service Design Packages and Change Requests during requirements phase to identify high value areas to apply automation
Establish automation best practices, including repository of code snippets and vetted procedures, that are shared and implemented across teams
Assist teams automate monitor, reports, and dashboards to facilitate the create and use of the organization s Situational Awareness Dashboard
Identify and implement process improvements working across teams
Implement automation solutions that ease the design of solutions; facilitate testing and implementation across multiple test environments; and
Participate in the organization s Problem Management process to identify root causes, applying automation to permanently resolve and/or prevent future occurrences
Follow the organization s change management and service design processes to apply automation to existing processing and to address emergent requirements
Review, apply, and enhance automation for generating and maintaining test environments for various development teams
Must have at least 10 years experience supporting Windows-based networks
Must have a strong background with PowerShell and PowerCLI
Must have experience working in JAFAN PL-3 or JSIG Accessibility Controls environments
Requires knowledge of network monitoring tools, SNMP, WMI, and best practices for implementing and using network management systems to deliver value
Requires advanced expertise and knowledge of virtualization, networking, SANs, Microsoft Windows systems, and how to apply automation
Capability to develop decision briefs and status briefs, including developing charts, trend analysis
Strong Knowledge of Security Controls within NIST 800-53 and how to satisfy the controls
Must maintain an IAT Level 2 certification (IAT Level 3 is preferred)
Must have certifications in Microsoft Windows Servers and VMware VCP
Valid US Drivers License
Security Clearance Requirements:
US Citizenship with an active TS clearance required and ability to obtain a potential SCI
Requires Bachelors degree (in Computer Science or related field) or equivalent, and twelve to fifteen years of related (progressively responsible network systems engineering) experience and management experience or Masters degree in Computer Science with nine to eleven years of related experience.
