ManTech Aerostat FSR in Baghdad, Iraq

As an Aerostat FSR you will provide Operational & Sustainment (O&S) support to include PSS-T Maintenance and sustainment support in Iraq. This position can be austere environments working up to 7 days a week on 12 hour shifts.

PSS-T is a Quick Reaction Capability (QRC) that provides integrated persistent surveillance, detection capabilities, and Full Motion Video (FMV) dissemination to Tactical Operation Centers (TOC). PSS-T integrates different sensors, some of which are located on its airborne aerostat, to detect small arms fires and Counter Improvised Explosive Device (IED) activity near airfields, fixed-base encampments, forward operating locations, and other facilities in support of rapid reaction security forces in the area of operation.

Responsibilities include:

  • Must be capable of performing analysis of system operations

  • Must have knowledge and experience in the operations of hardware systems and components

  • Must have experience in fault detection, isolation and correction of hardware systems and individual components

  • Must be capable of routine system maintenance including: hardware configuration; adding removing and replacing hardware components; Use of hardware and software diagnostic testing tools

  • Must be able to read electronic circuit schematics

  • Must be able to repair printed circuit boards.

Position Requirements :

  • Ability to perform basic tasks utilizing Microsoft Office suite of software applications such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook to include open, create, save and modify documents in Word, send and receive email in Outlook, and create spreadsheets in Excel.

  • Physical requirements include; talking, stooping, working inside and outside, working around hazards, driving, working with small tolerances, working with small parts, carrying, normal requirement of lifting 50 lbs, bending, crouching, reaching, kneeling, able to work with oscillating equipment, high noise levels, able working with machine operators, standing

  • Candidate must be willing to work and live in U.S. Military Bases.

  • Past military experience highly desirable. Overseas work in the South West Asia will be compensated including hardship, hazardous differentials and bonus pay.

  • U.S. DOD SECRET security clearance is required.

  • Candidate must possess a valid US drivers license and US passport. Candidate must meet all physical, medical and other requirements for overseas deployment in accordance with current DoD regulations.

  • This position is in a TDY status in SWA; reassignment from one U.S. Military Base to another may be required based on the needs of the contract.


  • Intermediate level: position requires 7 years of direct relevant technical experience or AA or 2 year technical school and 3 years direct experience may be substituted for education


  • Journeyman level position requires 8 years of direct relevant technical experience or bachelors degree, 5 years relevant experience can be substituted for education


  • Senior Lead: Position requires 20 Years experience or a Bachelors degree and 10 Years of relevant experience Security Requirements: U.S. Citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance based upon a SSBI completed within the last 5 years. Must be willing to submit to an initial and random polygraph.
