ManTech Innovation Specialist III in Aurora, Colorado

Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated career and customer-oriented Innovation Specialist III in Denver, CO.

The Innovation Specialist’s primary function is to leverage a background in physics or engineering along with strong analytical skills, an energetic solution focused mindset, and the ability to bridge the gap between advanced technology and deployment within the U.S. Department of Defense are crucial in this role. The Innovation Specialist III plays a critical role identifying and implementing innovative solutions to some of the most challenging problems facing the DoD today. The Innovation Specialist III supervises and mentors subordinate project and team ManTech staff.

Performance shall include:

  • Contributing to the development of an organization's innovation strategy, leveraging technical expertise to identify opportunities for technological advancements and breakthrough innovations, and conducting research and analysis to identify emerging technologies, developing trends, and potential market disrupting technologies that have the potential to create a competitive advantage for the U.S. military on the battlefield.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to generate and evaluate innovative ideas, assisting personnel in transitioning ideas into viable concepts and prototypes.

  • Apply in-depth knowledge of physics or engineering principles to evaluate and assess the feasibility, scalability, and potential impact of innovative ideas and technologies, and collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and industry experts to foster a network of innovation and identify opportunities for collaboration and knowledge sharing.

  • Work closely with legal and intellectual property teams to protect and manage intellectual property rights associated with innovation projects, and they establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the success and impact of innovation initiatives, providing regular reports and insights to senior management.

Required Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Physics, Engineering, or a related technical discipline and 9 years of experience.

  • 5 years of position-specific relevant experience.

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of physics or engineering principles, with the ability to apply them to evaluate and develop innovative solutions.

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a creative mindset to generate innovative solutions to complex technical challenges.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external partners.

  • A High School Diploma and 13 years of experience or an Associates and 11 years of experience will be accepted in lieu of a Degree.

  • A candidate holding a relevant Master’s degree may be granted 2 years’ experience credit for that extra education. A candidate holding a relevant PhD degree may be granted 4 years’ experience credit for that extra education.

Desired Education and Experience:

  • A Master's degree in Physics, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

  • Experience in the design and use of virtual reality or augmented reality (AR/VR), immersive simulation environments, high performance computing (HPC), or Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) technologies as they relate to performing engineering design development, maintenance, or disposal activities.

  • A Ph.D. in Physics, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

  • 9 years of experience in advanced technology research, innovation management, technology scouting, and/or research and development, preferably within a technical or engineering-focused industry.

Security Clearance:

  • Current Top Secret Clearance required.

  • Eligibility for access to Special Access Program Information

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.

  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.

  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.

  • Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

The projected compensation range for this position is $93,300-$155,200. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
