ManTech Senior Principal Systems Administrator (BigFix) in Annapolis Junction, Maryland

ManTech International seeks a qualified candidate for the position of Senior Principal Systems Administrator (BigFix) to support a large-scale Federal Agency program. This position requires candidates possess a Secret security clearance to qualify.

In this role, the selected candidate will:

  • Work with a highly skilled team focused on implementing and operating IBM BigFix as a solution, using domains such as BigFix Inventory, Lifecycle, Compliance, Patch, Web Reports, and WebUI for government and commercial clients.

  • Perform capacity planning, infrastructure maintenance, information sharing, and overall operation of the IBM BigFix platform. Apply system lifecycle strategies in geographically distributed and complex networks to identify inefficiencies, prioritize solutions, and develop effective implementation procedures.

  • Apply thoughtful leadership in a highly collaborative and innovative work environment to solve complex IT challenges.

  • Management of BigFix COOP, Disaster Recovery, and database backup strategies

  • Maintain Software License Reports within BigFix Inventory for software asset management across the enterprise; including PVU, RVU, sub capacity, full capacity, etc.

  • Development of custom fixlets, tasks, and baselines, tailored for customer specific requirements (ie. Parameterized content, dashboards, and reports and graphs)

  • Incorporation of BigFix with TLS encryption mandates

  • Integration of BigFix with LDAP authentication mechanisms for access control

  • Implement and maintain Roles, Automatic Groups, Custom Sites, and DevOps engineering practices with BigFix

  • Plan and implement BigFix migration procedures across network segments

  • Integrate BigFix relays and load balancing architectural design with distributed operating systems: AIX, RHEL, and Windows.

  • Perform appropriate capacity planning procedures for successful performance of the BigFix platform

  • Author and maintain standard operating procedures for BigFix operations

  • Hold training sessions for information sharing and best practices to other BigFix users


Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in Computer Science or another appropriate area of study and 10+ years of experience with designing, implementing, configuring, and operating IBM BigFix, including deployment of core platform components and specialized components of Inventory, Lifecycle Management, Security Compliance, Patch, Web User Interface and Web Reporting.

  • 5+ years of experience with performing systems administration in Windows, Linux, AIX and VMware environments, including performing installation and configuration, monitoring system performance and availability, performing upgrades, and troubleshooting

  • BigFix Master skill level over the deployment and maintenance of BigFix Platform domains: Inventory, Lifecycle, Patch, Server Automation, Compliance Analytics, WebUI, and Web Reports

  • BigFix programming in Relevance and Shell Scripting all through the BigFix console

  • Experience with performing system engineering, administration, data gathering, and research and analysis related to deploying and implementing BigFix tools and applications

  • Experience with working in large federal agency environments, including DHS, etc

  • Knowledge of federal information security policies, standards, procedures, directives, and frameworks and the federal security authorization, assessment, and risk management processes for enterprise systems. (Certification and Accreditation)

  • IBM BigFix Certifications: IBM BigFix Certified Deployment Professional is required

  • IBM BigFix Relevance Programming: 10 years

  • AIX Server Administration: 3 years
